With over 60yrs combined experience in the building industry John and Hadyn have all the qualifications and industry skills to successfully complete your next civil or structural engineering project.

Focusing on residential, low to medium rise commercial, industrial and institutional building works, On Beam Civil and Structural Engineering are also experienced in façade design and detailing for all types of buildings.

John has over 30 years experience in the building industry. He began working on building sites doing a variety of tasks, but focused on carpentry, in which he has many years of experience.

As well as working with timber (which is one of his passions) he has extensive experience working with steel, masonry and concrete.

John then decided to expand his building knowledge and undertook a civil engineering degree and completed a Masters degree. John now has many years of experience practicing as a consulting civil and structural engineer and has been involved in a very broad range of projects.

John is now a registered professional engineer and endorsed building engineer in the areas of civil and structural engineering and a registered building practitioner.

John loves building work and takes pride in providing great design work for his clients which is practical and cost effective.

Hadyn has been working in the building industry for over 30 years. Starting his apprenticeship and working for 13 years in the shopfitting industry, he then moved into the Engineering field working as a draftsman and shop detailer.

Putting his extensive building knowledge to good use Hadyn now designs and details practical, efficient and effective structures from complicated architectural designs.

Through the years, Hadyn has worked on a wide variety of projects using various building materials and has worked on many iconic buildings around Melbourne including Myer and RMIT.

In his spare time Hadyn is an on the tools builder, constructing his family home and working on other renovation projects.
